What is Childcare subsidy?

Childcare subsidy or help with the cost of childcare is available to families of a child (children) from birth to 12 years of age in licensed childcare programs.

Who can get childcare subsidy?

You can get childcare subsidy if you are:

Living in Halton
Working, attending school or a training program;
Qualify financially ($) for childcare subsidy.

Please note that eligibility for help with the cost of childcare is based on your family's income.

Am I eligible? Do I qualify?

An income test must be completed to find out if you qualify. The Halton Region will use your most recent Federal Notice of Assessment on Line 236 of your tax return to determine if you qualify. You must file an income tax return to apply for childcare subsidy.
